I’m Maehara Maki. My life in high school was pretty boring, with no friends and no one to talk to. But then my luck changed when Asanagi came into my life. The boys in my class called her “the second cutest girl,” but I don’t know why, but she decided to spend every Friday with me. If she wanted, she could have hung out with her topper and “number one cutest” friend, Amami, but she came to me.
We would spend hours in my room—playing games, watching movies, and reading tons of manga. I would come to my senses when the pizza and burger boxes were full and the cola bottles were empty. To the world, we might have seemed a little strange or “worthless,” but for Asanagi and me, those peaceful moments were the most special. It was our own little world, about which no one knew anything.
