The city’s underworld is now controlled by “Demon Lords”—these are not ordinary thugs, but people who have acquired dangerous powers through surgery. Fighting them is the task of “Heroes,” who are actually bounty hunters. These people enhance their power by taking a drug called E3 and are willing to kill anyone for money. Here, survival is more important than justice.
But his life changes when a school-age girl, Jougamine, pursues him to become her apprentice. Yashiro reluctantly takes her along, and then begins a cycle of death and dangerous rivalry that traps them both.
