This is the story of Shizuku Kanzaki, son of the world's foremost wine critic, Yutaka Kanzaki. From childhood, his father gave him such a strange and poor training in wine that the poor fellow began to hate it. Sometimes he was given a leather belt, sometimes a pencil, so he could recognize the scent of wine. He ran away from home and took a sales job at a beer company, determined never to touch alcohol again. But as fate would have it, when his father died, he was drawn back into that world. His father's will stipulated that his entire wealth and wine collection would go to whoever could identify the "12 Apostles" and the legendary wine "Drops of God."
